Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy is a wonderful time for a woman, your skin is glowing, you’re ‘blooming’ and you are excited about meeting your little bundle of joy! But pregnancy does put the body under immense amounts of pressure and can bring with it lots of aches, pains and discomfort to the muscles, joints and ligaments.

Thankfully Pregnancy Massage is now becoming a more recognised therapy for expectant mothers.   Massage during pregnancy can emotionally and physiologically support a woman during a time when her body is undergoing many changes.  Furthermore, research shows that the baby can also benefit greatly from massage as ‘feel good’ endorphins are released by the mother during massage and passed on to the baby.

Benefits of Pregnancy Massage

Upon booking your massage appointment a consultation form will be emailed to you.  This is an important document as it provides the therapist with essential information including any medical conditions past or present and determines whether you are suitable for treatment at this time.

Pregnancy massage is a light and gentle form of massage for relaxation and nourishment.  Your therapist will use a series of pre-natal massage techniques using gentle and gliding strokes.  It’s a Swedish style massage especially tailored to you and your pregnancy.

The treatment can cover all areas of the body but can focus on any area that is particularly  painful.  Your therapist is there to help you make the most out of your pregnancy massage.

Unfortunately we cannot provide massage therapy within the first trimester of pregnancy.
